Dense fog in Delhi, air traffic affected

New Delhi, January 14: Dense fog descended on the national capital this morning disrupting air and rail traffic even as cold wave maintained its grip over the city.

The minimum temperature was recorded at eight degree Celsius as against yesterday’s 8.1 degrees, a senior official at the Met Department said.

The thick layer of fog began descending on Delhi around midnight, the Met Office said.

Those who drove vehicles in the morning had to put on fog lights as the visibility dropped to below 100 metres level though it later increased as the day progressed while the operations at the airport here were affected.

The pace of vehicular traffic was slow in the morning due to fog. Some trains are also running late, officials said.
