Nellore, November 21: In a shocking incident, a patient suffering from a kidney ailment, committed suicide by jumping from a hospital building after he was refused free treatment here today.
The victim T Venu (35), suffering from a kidney ailment went to Narayana Medical College Hospital at Chinthareddypalem near here for dialysis.
When he produced his health card for getting treatment under Arogyasri, the hospital staff refused to treat him free and insisted on making payment for dialysis.
Even after his repeated pleas, the staff expressed their inability to allow him for free treatment and wanted him to make the payment, sources said.
Disheartened at the refusal, Venu hurried to the first floor of the hospital and plunged himself down. He died on the spot.
