Dengue outbreak in state, patients swamp Nilofer hospital

Nilofer Hospital which was once the largest Hospitals of its kind in Asia, today lies in very pathetic state. According to sources nearly 25 children died during the past one month thanks to negligence of administration. The hospital that is famous for best treatment in entire Asia is now flooded with patients and their attendants. The heavy crowd at Nilofer hospital is being attributed to the dengue outbreak in neighbouring districts. Children suffering from dengue are being shifted to Nilofer hospital. Though the hospital can accommodate only 500 patients but it is packed beyond capacity and nearly 1500 children have been admitted into the hospital. There is a sudden rise in the number of children suffering from dengue during the past 15 days. Patients from Medak, Nizamabad and Mahboobnagar are being shifted to the Nilofer hospital.

It is said that the cases of dengue have increased 40 percent in the current year. Humidity in atmosphere, air and water pollution and ineffective cleaning arrangements are said to be the causes behind the outbreak.
