Save City Lakes Organization applauded the efforts of TRS for taking bold action to demolish unauthorized buildings. The organization stressed the need for the Govt. to ensure removing unauthorized possessions in lake areas. It may be noted that for the construction of N convention center, Thammigudi Tank was illegally occupied.
Addressing a press conference yesterday, Mr. Chakri, Member of a Civil Society and convener of the organization told that permission is not granted for any construction activity in the catchment area of the lakes but Govt. permitted the authorities of N Convention Center to construct the building in Madhapur. A complaint was lodged by his organization in 2011 but the collector of RR district did not take any action.
