Demolition of religious structures, YSRC finds fault with government

Hyderabad: YSR Congress came down heavily on the TDP Government accusing it of demolishing the temples in the name of development.

Addressing the media here on Monday, YSRC spokesperson Parthasarathi said that the state government was demolishing religious structures ahead of the Pushkaralu showing scant regard for the people’s religious sentiments.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu said that the State Government has formed a committee to look into the issue of road widening and removal of religious structures that are on roads. He rebuked the Opposition charge that the state government was unilateral in removing the religious structures hurting the sentiments of the people. He said only a few structures are being shifted to other locations and this is being done by consulting all the stake holders. (INN)
