(Siasat News) The issue of dismantling Muslim graves in gaining attention once again. The surprising thing is that authorities are keeping quiet on all such instances. One such incident came to limelight wherein Muslim graves were dismantled for constructing a building complex. The foundation of the Qutub Shahi Mosque and the adjacent Mukarram Jah Hostel building are facing danger. There is a heritage building on the other side of the graveyard. On receiving information an MLA of the city visited and showed his enthusiasm and claimed that he would stop construction work with the help of the officials. This claim proved false. It is reported that a builder dismantled all the graves in Asman Mahel Area of Lakdi Ka pul behind Qutub Shahi Mosque. The developer left only two graves of Mirza Asif Ali Baig and his wife Tahzeebunnisa Begum. This area is located near Mehdi Function Hall in Lakdi Ka Pul. Wakf Board is silent on the demolition of graves. Municipality is also not taking any action. The office of Wakf Board and secretariat are situated within one km. from this location.
When the local residents contacted the MLA again, he said that his party president has directed him to keep quiet. When he was asked “won’t you protect the mosque if it is not located in your constituency?” he replied that he will try at his personal level.
Municipal corporator Mr. Amjadullah Khan Khalid submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister giving all the details.
