Democrats’ win reflects on working-class Americans’ dream: Pelosi

Washington: Minority Leader in the United States House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi, said that the majority win of the Democrats in the House of Representatives in the midterm polls clearly projects the demands of working-class Americans.

“Today’s election results in the House of Representatives are about restoring checks and balances’ to the Constitution,” Fox News quoted Pelosi, as saying.

“The midterm wins are about what a new Democratic majority means for working-class Americans. It’s about what a new Democratic majority means for working-class Americans,” Pelosi added.

Taking the stage to cheer Democrats regaining power in the House of Representatives, Pelosi was greeted with chants of “Speaker, Speaker, Speaker,” while telling Democratic campaign aides, legislative staffers and top donors in Washington that they have guaranteed that “tomorrow will be a new day in America”, CNN reported.

Pelosi, along with Chairman of the Democratic National Committee, Tom Perez, applauded the party’s “dynamic, diverse, incredible candidates who have taken back the House for the American people.”

Drew Hammill, chief of Pelosi’s staff tweeted that President Donald Trump called Pelosi to congratulate her on winning the House.

Democrats in the midterm elections underway this season focused on their commitment to fighting ‘#ForThePeople’.
They majorly focused on the issues of lowering prescription drug prices, raising wages by rebuilding America and fighting corruption.

The election results, officially going to be declared tonight, would have major ramifications for the US Presidential elections, 2020.
