Demand to withdraw RTC fares hike- Naidu

Govt. is putting the burden of diesel price hike on the passengers using RTC buses by increasing bus fares.

Mr. N.Chandrababu Naidu, President of TDP demanded the Govt. to withdraw the increased bus fares immediately otherwise the party would launch a massive agitation. He said that due to the corrupt practices of some officials, the burden of the loans has been imposed on R.T.C. He suggested that by reducing the sales tax of 22.50% on diesel, people could be relieved of the extra burden. It will improve RTC also. He told that after assuming power in 2004, Congress Govt. has increased bus fares four times. People are not in a position to bear this burden. He blamed the Govt. that it is not providing any additional facilities to the public. Mr. Naidu said that R.T.C is the poor man’ travel vehicle. The decision of the Govt. to raise bus fares is hostile to the poor. He told that Govt. has lost the moral right to rule the State. He demanded to withdraw it immediately.
