Hyderabad, December 09: Congress MP Mr. Poonam Prabhakar told that the statement given by Minister of State for Home Affairs Mr. Jitender Singh in the Parliament has nothing to do with Telangana issue. He has given this statement keeping in mind the situation of Uttar Pradesh. Telangana leaders have confidence in Ms. Sonia Gandhi. Mr. Prabhakar was speaking to newsmen in New Delhi. He said that Mr. P. Chidambaram had given the statement in Parliament on 9th December 2009 after getting the consensus from all the parties.
Opponents of Telangana are twisting the statement of Mr. Jitender Singh. The Home Minister had given assurance after getting consensus from all the parties. Consensus has already been arrived at two years ago. Mr. Ghulam Nabi Azad and Mr. Pranab Mukherjee have consulted the leaders of the three regions to arrive at consensus again. The T-issue is older than the demands of other smaller states. Congress MP’s have been pressurizing for the formation of T-state.
