Committee for the release of political prisoners announced a week long protest program on the occasion of the 83rd death anniversary of Shaheed Bhagath Singh, Rajguru and Sukdev. From 23 – 29 march protest programs would be organized in the entire state.
Talking to newsmen yesterday the leaders of social activists, Mr. Varavara Rao, Raghunath, Ms. Padma and others in a joint press statement demanded the Govt. to release prisoners unconditionally. A protest program would be organized tomorrow at Indira Park. They also demanded the releases of Ganashan and former police constable, Mr. Abdul Qadeer unconditionally. The leaders told that no execute has any power to keep the citizens in jails in an undemocratic way. They have also decided to meet the leaders of local and national political parties to make a representation for the release of political prisoners.
Mr. Venkateshwara Rao, Mr. B.Tarakam, Mr. Ch. Ramiah, Mr. Zaheeruddin Ali Khan, Prof. Haragopal and others will address the gathering at Indira Park and would present the strategy for the release of political prisoners.
