A delegation of Telangana State Teachers Union led by Mr. Anees-ur-Rahman, President and others met Dy. CM Mr. Mohammed Mahmood Ali and demanded to provide land for housing for State teachers and requested him to take immediate action. Dy. CM. assured them that he will apprise the CM about this matter.
In the memorandum presented to Dy. CM, a demand was made that in Cyberabad or at any other place in RR District atleast 200 acres of land should be provide for the teachers. It was mentioned in the memorandum that all the teachers were provided membership in A.P.NGOs and Telangana NGOs Housing Society for the allotments of lands. At that time their membership was cancelled saying that teachers are not Govt. employees. It may be noted that teachers are engaged in election duties as Govt. servants but when the time of allotting lands, they are not treated as Govt. employees. They pointed out that Govt. has provided lands to all the Govt. employees but it has left out the teachers. They mentioned that teachers played a key role in making the strike successful during Telangana agitation.
