All India Personal Law Board demanded UPA Chairperson, Ms Sonia Gandhi and Dr. Manmohan Singh, P.M. to present Anti-Communal Violence Bill in the next session of the Parliament. Since 2005 only draft bills were formulated but no enactment took place. In 2011 National Advisory Council under the Stewardship of Ms. Sonia Gandhi drafted this bill in which the responsibility of controlling communal riots was fixed on District Police Officials.
Due to the opposition of BJP, RSS and other political parties, Govt. is afraid of presenting this bill in the Parliament.
Mr. Mohammed Abdur Raheem Quraishi, Asst. General Secretary of Personal Law Board told that after Muzaffar Nagar and Shamli communal riots, the need for passing this bill has been increased to control the situation.
