Demand to issue White paper on gas issue

(Siasat News)TRS MLA Mr.Taraka Rama Rao demanded the Govt. to issue a white paper on granting gas to GMR. Gas projects and Lanco.

Talking to newsmen, he said that C.M. to has not been successful in gas issue. Mr.N.Kiran Kumar Reddy is making false claims.

C.M represented to P.M along with A.P. M.P’s for the allotment of gas for the projects of Seema Andhra area. He succeeded in gas allotments for LANCO and G.M.R. projects. A.P.Genco had submitted proposals 10 years back for power projects based on gas in Nandanoor and Shakerpally in Telangana area but gas has not been allotted these projects so far. This shows that C.M. has no interest for Telangana projects. Whatever share of gas, C.M has been able to get, was the share of A.P. To claim success is false. Central Petroleum Minister Mr. S. Jaipal Reddy declared that stopping the gas supply to Ratnagiri Project of Maharastra is only temporary. Final decision to supply the gas will be taken in the group of Central Ministers. State Govt. has to convene a meeting before the Central Group of Ministers takes a policy decision. In addition to it, Govt. of A.P should consult the exports on gas and power generation.

If govt. had any interest in Telangana, it would have stopped gas supply to GMR and LANCO Projects located in Andhra area and it should have taken a decision to supply gas to Nandanoor and Shankerpally projects.

Mr. Taraka Rama Rao told that C.M. went to New Delhi to represent and protect the interests of Seema Andhra area. He should have represented for the allotment of gas to Telangana power projects also. In fact, he was worried about protecting the interests of GMR and LANCO projects, which are collecting crores of rupees through their projects. He blamed that Seema Andhra leaders want to establish their supremacy our Telangana area. TRS MLA told that in every field, injustice is being done to Telangana. He demanded the Govt. of A.P to release a white paper on the supply of gas to GMR and LANCO projects and on the representation C.M has made to the Prime Minister of India so as to know the public, how much interest the Govt. has in promoting private institutions.
