A delegation of S.I.O(Students’ Islamic Organisation), M.P.J(Movement for Peace & Justice) and Jamait-e-Islami of Nanded met the District Collector, Nanded, District Education Officer, CEO of Zilla Parishad, Chairman of Zillah Parishad, Commissioner of Municipal Corporation separately and presented a memorandum to them consisting of their demands.
The delegation told the Govt officials that Govt of India is implementing Pre-Matric Scholarships Scheme for the benefit of Muslim students. Govt of Maharashtra has decided to grant scholarships to the poor Muslim students but due to the bad mentality of the communal minded Govt officials, this scheme is not being utilized properly.
They demanded to arrange a workshop of the Headmasters of various schools to train them in filling the scholarship forms.
They demanded to abandon the system of attaching the certificates. Once the scholarship is sanctioned, all these documents would be produced.
They complained that the amounts of scholarships sanctioned last year have not yet been disbursed by the managements of certain schools.
The delegation requested the authorities to extend the last date of registration of scholarship applications up to 30th September 2012.
