Demand to delete points against shariah from Waqf Act

Shaikhul Jamia Jamia Nizamia Maulana Mufti Khaleel Ahmed said that government should delete points from Waqf Act which clash with the shariah matters. Speaking to press persons on Monday Mufti Khaleel Ahmed said that Waqf is also a permanent law under various laws in shariah if any person endows his personal property for good purpose it remains Waqf forever. Government or any officer do not have right to change Mansha-e-Waqf. As per shariah the donor has the right to appoint a caretaker. Caretaker is not anyone’s subordinate. Waqf Board has no power to hire or fire him as government servant. He ruled out the argument that Waqf property can be spent on welfare and prosperity of Muslims. This point of view is wrong the income can only be spent for the purpose for which it is bequeathed. He said.
