Demand to cancel Polavaram project ordinance

Telangana Praja Front leaders threatened to launch a massive protest campaign against the ordinance promulgated by President of India in respect of Polavaram project transferring 7 mandals of Khammam districts to Andhra area. Vice President and State Coordinator of Telangana Praja Front, Mr. M. Veda Kumar, while talking to newsmen yesterday told that while issuing this ordinance the protection of the tribals and the forest act have been set aside. Mr. Veda Kumar told that this conspiracy of genocide of the tribals has been hatched by BJP and TDP combined. This ordinance has been issued to benefit the contractors of Andhra region. It will affect more than 5 lakh tribals forcing them to shift from their native place. He further told that it will neither benefit Telangana nor Andhra but it will benefit the western corridor where major multinational commercial projects are going to be launched. Mr. Veda Kumar further told that playing with Telangana anymore will not be tolerated. He also told that Telangana Praja Front will launch a massive movement against 11 sections of anti-Telangana which are included in the Telangana bill.
