Demand to allocate budget of Rs. 1000 crore for minorities

Hyderabad, January 5: Pradesh Congress president minority department Mr. Mohammad Sirajuddin met chief minister Mr. Kiran Kumar Reddy and demanded to allocate budget of 1000 crore rupees for minorities. Expressing concern over distribution of only 11000 acre land to Muslims out of 7 lakh acres of land allotted for poor, he demanded convening a special meeting to benefit minorities from the government schemes.

He said 7 lakh acre land has been distributed among poor people so far in 5 phases however great injustice has been done towards Muslims in the distribution of land and only 11 thousand acre land has been distributed among 7380 Muslims.

He stressed the need for increase in Muslim representation in judiciary and police department.

He said that though the minority welfare budget is 300 crore yet it is limited only to fee reimbursement and scholarships and the activities of minority finance corporation came to a standstill due to insufficient budget.
