Dell launches world’s first 17-inch, 2-in-1 laptop

Taipei: US-based computer technology company Dell has unveiled a new Inspiron laptop series, including Inspiron 17 7000 2-in-1 — the world’s first 17-inch 2-in-1 laptop — at the “Computex 2016” trade show here.

The 2016 Inspiron 2-in-1 lineup includes premium 7000 series, a mainstream 5000 series and an entry-level 3000 series. These new devices are available with processor options and configurable features.

“With our new Inspiron 2-in-1 lineup, customers can work where they need to and play when they want to. Whatever you can create or imagine, you can achieve it with the 2-in-1 laptop best suited to your needs,” Ray Wah, Vice President, Dell Consumer Product Marketing, said in a statement.

The Inspiron 13, 15 and 17-inch 7000 2-in-1 devices offer aluminium design fast 6th Gen Intel Core processor options, four modes in versatile 360 degree hinges.

The series has wide-viewing angle screen with Full-HD resolution, backlit keyboard and infrared camera that works with Windows Hello.

The Inspiron 7000 2-in-1s have optional USB Type C adapter which has ports for HDMI and VGA displays, ethernet connection and a USB 3.0 port to support external hard drives, printers and scanners.

Inspiron 13, 15 and 17 7000 2-in-1s will be available from June 2 on Dell.com in the US and China starting at $749.

Inspiron 11 5000 2-in-1s feature the latest processors from Intel, a vibrant HD resolution display, USB 3.0 port and Micro SD media card reader. Inspiron 13 and 15 3000 2-in-1s will be available on Dell.com in the US and China starting at $529 beginning June 2.

Inspiron 3000 2-in-1s laptops have wide-angle Full HD resolution display, an infrared camera that works with Windows Hello facial recognition and backlit keyboard. The series will be available on Dell.com in the US and China starting at $249 from June 2.
