New Delhi, January 22: Another day of dense fog threw the air and rail traffic out of gear in the national capital today though the mercury went up a bit.
The fog started accumulating at around 8.30 pm last night. The visibility dropped to 100 metres at 7.30 am, a Met Department official said.
Thick layer of fog once again affected air operations at the IGI airport with schedules of over 70 domestic and international flights being disrupted. “Around 32 flights have been rescheduled and six have been cancelled while several others were delayed due to dense fog at the airport,” an airport official said.
The fog started to descend at the airport around 1.30 am, reducing the general visibility to zero. The runway visibility was above 600 metres.
Many trains ran behind schedule because of the poor visibility.
