New Delhi: A 14-year-old girl was allegedly abducted in West Delhi and raped in a car by six men in South-West Delhi on Friday. Five of the rapists have been identified, said deputy commissioner of police (West), Pushpendra Kumar, but one is on the run. One of the rapists is her neighbour.
PTI reported that the five men – Rahul and Suraj, both 19, Sandeep, 21, Ramesh, 27, and Narender, 20 – have been arrested. Their accomplice Aman, 23, has not been found.
The girl said that she was on her way to school on Friday when her neighbour Rahul stopped her near her home in Jal Vihar and offered her a ride. When she refused, he accosted her with the help of a friend and pushed her inside a car. They then drove to an isolated spot, where she was raped by six men.
The crime was discovered when a passerby reportedly saw the semi-conscious girl inside the car and reported it to police. Police have registered a case of rape and kidnapping under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act.
