NEW DELHI: The NDMC-run school in Wazirabad immediately dissolve the sections that segregate students on the basis of religion following the suspension of the head of the school.
The Delhi Commission for Protection of Child Rights (DCPCR) took cognizance after reports of the practice emerged and on Wednesday, October 11 issued a notice to the Wazirabad school authorities.
“In our preliminary investigation conducted on Wednesday, we had found that the teacher-in-charge (of the school) had been re-organising the sections along these lines starting from August. On Thursday, these newly formed sections were dissolved, and the sections which existed prior to July 28 were restored,” said a senior official in the education department, reported Indian Express.

The in-charge of school, CB Singh Sehrawat was suspended on Wednesday.
The state apex child body had written to the Education Director of NDMC and to the head of school, saying that segregation on religion basis would “potentially have an ill effect on holistic learning and development of the students and also negatively impact the social fabric of the nation,” reported News18.
