Delhi: Robbery executed on-board on Ambala-bound train in early wee hours

New Delhi: Robbery on board took place in the wee hours of Friday morning on Ambala-bound train after the train crossed Hazrat Nizamuddin Station.

Four armed robbers executed the robbery around 4 am in the morning when the train halted for some time between Nizamuddin Station and Tilak Bridge.

Northern Railway spokesperson Nitin Chowdhary reacting to the robbery, said, “Four robbers armed with knives threatened 12 to 15 passengers travelling in the train’s general coach and decamped with their valuables such as mobile phones.”

“The robbery took place when the train stopped at Nizamuddin-Tilak Bridge. One person suffered minor injuries, rest of the passengers are fine,” he informed.

The spokesperson said the victim passengers have filed a preliminary complaint regarding the robbery at the New Delhi railway station while the Government Railway Police (GRP) has registered a case, the official said.

The Railway Protection Force and GRP are jointly probing the matter he stated, Indian Express.
