New Delhi: The newly-appointed Delhi Police Commissioner Alok Kumar Verma today called on Home Minister Rajnath Singh and discussed various issues concerning the national capital.
During the 15-minute meeting, Verma is believed to have given a list of his priorities, including women’s security and maintaining of law and order, official sources said.
Verma took charge from B S Bassi who had faced severe criticism over his handling of the JNU row.
Verma, a 1979-batch IPS officer of the Union Territory cadre, was serving as the Director General of Tihar jail before taking up his present assignment.
