New Delhi: Two viral videos coming to fore on social media indicate that Delhi police was behind the burning of buses during the protests against NAA that rocked the national capital.
In one video allegedly a policeman can be been sprinkling some fuel to the seats of the bus (bearing no DLIPC -5299) while in another video the same bus (bearing no DLIPC -5299) a can be seen after the burning.
The protest took place at Kalindi Kunj road, which is near Jamia University. According to reports, three buses were burnt at the site.
In a statements students have directly blamed Delhi Police saying ‘violence was orchestrated with the knowledge and collaboration of Delhi Police’.
Many including Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia alleged some members of the police may have been involved in the vandalism and arson.
“See this photo… see who is setting buses and cars on fire… This photo is the biggest proof of the BJP’s pathetic politics… Can BJP leaders respond to this?” Mr Sisodia tweeted in Hindi.
Jamia Students have maintained that no student is involved in violence, which has shaken the national capital.
“The student community of Jamia Millia Islamia holds the Delhi police responsible for having initiated an attack on the students inside the university campus, without any incitement from the side of the students. Innocent students were attacked, badly beaten up, sexually abused and left with no medical help in a blatant case of human rights violation, ” the statement by the protesting students reads.
While the Delhi Police issued a firm denial of any involvement in Sunday’s carnage in neighboring Uttar Pradesh, the place in Aligarh were caught on camera smashing two-wheelers after protests at the Aligarh Muslim University. The allegations have sparked calls for an independent inquiry against law enforcement officials in two the states.
