Delhi: Mob barges into Christian school and girls’ hostel opposite Lt. Governor’s House, attacks staff

New Delhi: Another case of harassment to minorities came to limelight. In Delhi, a school and hostels which are run by Baptist Church Trust Association are attacked by a mob of more than 80 persons.

During the attack, the violent mob broke the doors, locked the security guards at gun point. They also made an attempt to enter girls’ hostel.

Later, police reached the spot and arrested the miscreants. However, they were later released. A FIR was registered on the next day of the incident.

The surprising fact is that the incident took place few meters from Lieutenant Governor House.

According to a report published in Two Circles, it seems that the miscreants’ wanted to grab the 28 acres of Trust’s land.

The mob containing 80-90 persons including 40-45 women forcibly entered the premises of the trust located at 21 Raj Niwas Marg, Delhi. After attacking this place, the mob proceeded towards Stephen Thomas Girls Hostel of the Trust where they locked the security guard at gunpoint and threatened him.

Talking about the incident, Secretary-cum-Treasurer of the Trust, Mr. Sumeet Nath said that the incident took place at around 7 a.m. on 17th August. He also said that the police reached the spot at around 7:45 a.m. and arrested some of the miscreants. Later, police registered a complaint under sections 448/453/34.

It is also reported that the mob was led by Rajinder Singh who wanted to illegally possess the property which is owned by the Trust.

All the activities of the miscreants have been recorded in CCTV footage. Security guards who were on duty are the eyewitness of the incident.

Pastor. Solomon David, Secretary-Treasurer of the Trust expressed the shock and said that the incident took place at the spot where Quick Reaction Team of Police are always on the rounds as it is located opposite the LG’s House.
