New Delhi, March 25: As Delhiites prepare to join millions across the globe to observe the Earth Hour tomorrow, city MLAs also took a pledge at the Assembly today to do their bit to combat the threat of global warming.
After conclusion of the Question Hour, Speaker Yoganand Shastri stood up and read out the pledge, echoed by all members present in the House. BJP MLAs, however, were not there as they were already marshalled out of the Assembly for causing uproar on the issue of Shunglu Committee report on Commonwealth Games projects.
The MLAs vowed to switch off their electrical appliances like lights, fans and air-conditioners for an hour from 8:30 pm tomorrow night as part of their “honest effort to combat the threat of global warming.
