New Delhi, July 24: In a major set back to Gammon India Ltd, the Delhi High Court today issued notice to leading contractor in Delhi Metro Rail project.
The notice was issued on a petition filed by the family members of victims of the July 12 mishap, seeking compensation.
Posting the matter on August 20 for next hearing, Justice Rewa Khetrapal directed the company to file its response.
It is worth mentioning here that at least six people, including an engineer, were killed and over a dozen others injured when an under-construction over-bridge of the Delhi Metro collapsed on July 12 in south Delhi.
The petitioners demanded that the family of the deceased should get a compensation of Rs 50 lakh each while injured persons should be given Rs 25 lakh each.
