Delhi may see traffic snarls tomorrow due to NDA rally

New Delhi, December 21: The national capital could see traffic snarls tomorrow due to a rally organised by the opposition NDA with police advising people to avoid stretches in central Delhi.

Police expect 15,000-20,000 people to attend the rally which will be held in Ramlila Maidan.

“Traffic congestion is expected in central and New Delhi. Ring Road, Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg, Netaji Subhash Marg, Jawaharlal Nehru Marg, Asaf Ali Road, and Ranjit Singh Marg could be affected,” Satyendra Garg, Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic), told reporters.

Buses and heavy vehicles will be diverted from the roads leading to the venue and their entry would be restricted on the Ranjit Singh flyover.

The rally is scheduled to begin at 12 noon but Garg said traffic is likely to be affected from 11 am as people start gathering for the rally.
