New Delhi, Dec 7 : The Delhi High Court will hear on Wednesday a plea seeking a stay on the city government’s decision to restrict the number of private vehicles on roads based on the odd-even number of their licence plates.
Advocate R.K. Kapoor contended before a division bench of Justice B.D. Ahmed and Justice Sanjeev Sachdeva that the decision was taken without proper consideration of all the factors.
To bring down the increasing air pollution level in the national capital, the Delhi government has decided that from January 1, private vehicles will be allowed to run on the streets on alternate days depending on whether their licence plates end in odd or even numbers.
