New Delhi, May 07: The Delhi High Court today did not stay a media house from telecasting and publishing tapes and script of the purported conversation between Telecom Minister A Raja and corporate lobbyist Niira Radia but issued notices on the suit for injunction and damages.
Justice V K Shali issued notice to the TV Today Group, which runs English news channel ‘Headlines Today’ and publishes the daily ‘Mail Today’, asking it to reply to the suit filed by Radia seeking damages for broadcasting and publishing allegedly defamatory contents.
The application for injunction has been posted for further hearing on May 17. The suit was filed on the ground of invasion of privacy among other things.
The script related to the purported conversation between Raja and Radia last year in which the Minister is allegedly soliciting her help in ensuring a “good” portfolio for him.
