New Delhi: Delhi High Court Acting Chief Justice Gita Mittal today inaugurated a sensitisation programme here to make students aware about law and punishment of sexual abuse and violence.
Inaugurating the programme, ‘Child Abuse and Violence- Interpersonal and Digital World’, Justice Mittal said that the programme should touch upon aspects of cyber crimes and the digital world as children between the age group of 14 and 18 years have easy access to digital media and may be susceptible to digital crimes.
“The objective was to make the children aware of the forms that sexual violence can take, to enable them to identify the same, to empower them to take remedial action if any such incident takes place with them or they come to know about any such incident,” according to a press note issued by the Delhi State Legal Services Authority.
The school students were also cautioned that if they commit any such act, they could be held responsible for their action under law.
