The Delhi government has decided to withdraw its circular that permitted the controversial two-finger test on rape victims.
The Arvind Kejriwal government will also be taking appropriate action against the officials who had signed the circular, according to a NDTV report.
The circular, issued on May 31, stated that the two-finger test would help in complete examination of the rape victim and would help in delivering justice.
However, the circular also assured that the test would be conducted with the consent of the rape victim.
In 2013, the Supreme Court had pronounced that the two-finger test violated woman’s right to privacy.
