Delhi: Drinking water to get costlier post 20k litres consumption

New Delhi: Delhiā€™s CM Arvind Kejriwal in a meeting today has decided to raise water charges by twenty percent after the first 20,000 litres of water is supplied free of cost.

It was after coming to power, the Delhi government had announced 20 thousand litres of free water supply every month for every household in Delhi per month for every household in the capital.

He said there are no tariff changes for up to 20 thousand litres per month. The current tariff charges are 219.63 as service tax with the volumetric charge of Rs 21.97 per 1000 litres for up to 30,000 liters per month.

Those who use over 30,000 litres a month have to pay Rs. 292.82 in service charge and Rs. 36.61 per 1,000 litres in volumetric charge, reported NDTV.
