Delhi defeat tactical mistake: Venkaiah

Admitting that the BJP has made a tactical blunder in Delhi Assembly elections wherein other parties, including Congress at its own cost favored the victory of AAP, Union Urban Development Minister M. Venkaiah Naidu said Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s charisma did not wane and people of the nation reposed faith in the party at national level while AAP swept the local poll.
Speaking to mediapersons on Sunday, Venkaiah said, “Without any hesitation, I accept the defeat of the party as a failure to assess the situation in Delhi wherein people wanted to support Kejrival at the regional level. With our defeat in Delhi elections, the BJP needs to learn a lesson to go together will all other parties”, he stated. “Had we conducted Delhi Assembly polls soon after parliamentary elections and avoiding time loss by taking support from other parties through three or four-cornered fights, the BJP could have won the elections, he stated.
However, Venkaiah also noted that the people feel that Modi and Kejriwal will end corrupt polities and offer good governance. The Opposition parties should realize the fact that they are being decimated instead of deriving vicarious satisfaction over the BJP defeat. He also slammed the caste, communal and corrupt political parties joining hands to take on the BJP at the Centre. “Yes, we are ready to take any challenge”, he asserted.
Refuting the allegations being leveled by JD-U leader Nitish Kumar on formation of government in Bihar against Narendra Modi Government, Venkaiah Naidu said the latter has no role in the row. “We have in no way concerned with the issue and the Governor would find a solution. The JD-U is divided and feuding is going on in Janatha Pariwar”, he said and expressing displeasure at parading of MLAs at Rashtrapathi Bhavan to form government. The Modi Government is all set to implement a “mantra” to create wealth and eradicate poverty by empowering every Indian and serve the poorest of the poor, Venkaiah asserted.
“Despite being inherited bad economy and bad situation in every sector, we are determined to offer the best services by plugging leakages of subsidy schemes”, he said, adding that the Modi Government came up with “Make in India”, “Jan Dhan Yojana” schemes to increase productivity in multiple sectors and helped millions of BPL category to upward transformation besides bringing the poor on to development tracks”.
