Delhi Court asks Google to remove videos against Sikhism

New Delhi [India]: A Delhi court on Thursday directed Google India to remove all videos featuring Sakshi Bhardwaj making offensive comments against Sikhism”>Sikhism on YouTube.

The Patiala House court has asked Google to remove the hate speeches from YouTube in the next seven days.

G.S. Walia, chief commercial inspector in Northern Railways, moved court against Google India in August for removal of the offensive videos in circulation on YouTube and injunction against uploading similar videos.

Civil judge Jasjeet Kaur on Thursday passed an ex-parte interim injunction in favour of petitioner Walia.

He also alleged that Google India had refused to remove the offensive videos of Bhardwaj from YouTube.

The court also issued notice to Google India and Delhi Police Commissioner on the plea.

The next hearing on the matter is on November 22.

Walia also told the court that hate speeches are in circulation on social media for quite some time, which will exacerbate communal disharmony. (ANI)
