New Delhi, October 14: A team from the Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) Wednesday questioned a Delhi Police inspector over charges of amassing assets worth around Rs.20 crore (Rs.200 million), police said.
The ACB Tuesday had conducted raids at properties allegedly owned by Inspector Roshan Lal, the station house officer of the Kalyanpuri police station in east Delhi.
“We are investigating the matter and Roshan Lal is cooperating in it. He has not been arrested yet as we are still verifying some facts. Raids are being conducted in the national capital region and parts of Uttar Pradesh,” Deputy Commissioner of Police (ACB) I.D. Shukla said
Meanwhile, a departmental inquiry has also been ordered against him.
However, the cop denied allegations terming it as a conspiracy against him.
“All these properties are owned by my family for almost two decades and I had nothing to do with it. My brother Vinod Kumar who lives in Canada and father Rajendra Pal own these properties and my name is being dragged in unnecessarily,” he said.
According to officials, Lal owns three hotels – India International, Silver Shine and Carlo Castle – in Paharganj, a cinema hall in Uttar Pradesh and his total assets might be over Rs.20 crore.
