Delhi: For all the unscheduled power cuts in Delhi, people will now get compensation which can go up to Rs. 5000. The plan was being discussed from a very long time, came into effect as the Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission revised its rules today.
Consumers will receive Rs. 50 per hour for the first two hours of unscheduled power cuts and after that they will receive Rs. 100 per hour, according to the new rules.

Earlier in April, Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal cleared the compensation policy. A similar scheme announced earlier by the AAP government was cancelled because it had been notified without his signature.
