Delhi CM Kejriwal meets party candidates contesting MCD polls, takes stock of campaign activities

New Delhi: Delhi CM and Aam Admi Party convenor Arvind Kejriwal met his party candidates who are contesting MCD elections and discussed campaign activities.

A party leader said Kejriwal discussed with them their door-to-door campaign, a key element of party’s strategy to reach out to voters. He also reviewed the progress on projector showing his video message to the voters.

“The BJP has made the MCD the Most Corrupt Department (MCD). We will win the polls and clean up the mess in a year,” Kejriwal told the candidates.

Party’s Delhi unit convenor Dilip Pandey was also present at the meeting. The AAP chief will address a public meeting on March 31 at Burari. The party did not fare as per its own expectations in recent Assembly elections in Punjab while in Goa it drew a blank.

The party was expecting that a win in either of the states will bolster its ambitions for a nationwide reach, and give a major push to its prospects in the Delhi MCD polls and the Gujarat Assembly elections later this year.

However, the poor showing has demoralised the party workers in the national capital. A win in its home turf would surely give a boost to the party in the upcoming Gujarat polls.
