Delhi building collapse leaves dreadful screams

New Delhi, November 16: Rescue operation after Delhi Building collapse in Delhi’s Laxminagar on Monday evening

After more than 12-hours of Delhi building collapse tragedy, relatives and friends are extensively searching for their missing dear-ones.

The death toll in the Delhi Building collapse near Lalita Park in Laxminagar Area has been mounted to 64 while 80 others are injured.

Authorities have said that the death toll likely to go up further as few people are still trapped inside the debris. Unconfirmed sources said that there are more than 50 people still inside the wreckage.

The five-storyed building at a congested lane in east Delhi collapsed like a pack of cards on Monday evening. The most of the victims were outsiders from Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and other states, who came to the capital for livelihood.

Grievances and bereavements have surrounded the entire area and hospitals where the injured are undergoing treatment. Kins of the victims alleged that authorities are not allowing them to meet their family members at the hospitals. On the other hand, some people accused authorities of misguiding them and not providing proper information.

It was really worrisome scene at the site as the people are crying and running hither and thither to find their relatives and family members. A 12-year-child Amjad has also missing since the tragedy. People can contact his Uncle’s mobile No. 981868252, in case of any info regarding Amjad.

Meanwhile, Delhi CM Sheila Dikshit also paid visit to the incident site and ordered case against the owner of the building Sardar Amrit Singh, who is absconding after the incident.

A case of culpable homicide not amounting to murder will be registered against Amrit Singh.

Accused Amrit Singh has another building adjacent to the collapsed one in the area and authorities have ordered to evacuate the building. In a short while, SDM will evacuate the building.

Amrit Singh has a criminal history and is also booked in more than six cases, including murder. He has also been involved in fake cement business.
