Delhi AAP legislators meet Pranab Mukherjee, request early polls

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Members of Legislative Assembly (MLAs) met President Pranab Mukherjee here today to discuss possibilities of forming a government in Delhi.

AAP leader Arwind Kejriwal said they had requested the president for elections in Delhi and accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of trying to stall it.

“We met the president and told him about the zero possibilities of government formation in Delhi. After the formation of the NDA, inflation has risen in one month. People are angry. BJP doesn’t want elections in Delhi. They are trying to break AAP MLAs. Around 10 MLAs of AAP have been approached so far and offered money and positions. But none of them has accepted it. But, what is more tragic is that a few BJP MLAs approached our MLA from Shalimar Bagh Vandana Kumari day before yesterday at 7.30 p.m. and tried to bribe her, but when she refused, they threatened to kill her family,” said Kejriwal.

“President Pranab Mukherjee said that he will think over what we spoke about,” he added. (ANI)
