NEW DELHI: A 45-year-old bakery shop worker was hit by a customer allegedly over refusing to give plastic bag.
According to reports, the victim, identified as Khaleel Ahmed and the incident took place on October 15, in Nehru Nagar under the Dayalpur police station limits.
Khaleel, an employee at a bakery in Dayalpur area received a 24-year-old customer identified as Faizan Khan who came to the bakery at 10 am to buy rusk.
Khaleel packed the rusk in a paper bag following the recent ban on polythene but Faizan asked for a plastic bag.
According to the deceased’s son, Kasim who was present at the time of the incident, told police that the accused got into an argument with the middle-aged man and hit on his head with a brick.
Khaleel was rushed to GTB Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries on Sunday.
A First Information Report (FIR) under Indian Penal Code (IPC) Section 304 has been registered.
Speaking to ANI news agency, Kasim said that, “The accused has not been arrested. He has filed an application saying he is juvenile which he is not”.
