New Delhi: Two persons have been arrested for allegedly raping a 17-year-old school girl after offering her a lift outside Uttam Nagar metro station in southwest Delhi, police said on Thursday.
The accused have been identified as Vikas (26) and Manjeet (27), they said.
The girl alleged that the accused allegedly offered her a spiked drink and then took her to a flat in Gurgaon where they took turns to rape her yesterday, police said.
They dropped the girl outside her house after the incident. She later narrated the incident to her parents, they said.
The victim told the police that the accused picked her up from outside Uttam Nagar metro station while she was on her way to school, police said.
One of the accused stays in the same area as the victim and the other’s sister is married into the same neighbourhood, they said.
On the basis of the girl’s complaint, a case under relevant sections of IPC and POCSO was registered at Bindapur police station, police said.
Surender Kumar, DCP (Southwest) said Vikas was arrested yesterday and Manjeet was nabbed today, adding that their car has also been seized.
Police is trying to identify the flat where the victim was allegedly gangraped.
