Delhi: 16-yr-old domestic help killed, body chopped into pieces on demanding salary

New Delhi: A 16-year-old girl was murdered and brutally chopped into pieces by a man after she demanded her salary, said the police on May 20. The man who brought her to Delhi from Jharkhand as a domestic help, Manjeet Karketa confessed his crime that he killed her with the help of two other people, including a woman.

According to a report by Deccan Chronicle, the body parts of the girl were found in a drain one day after her murder on May 4. To investigate the case, the police scanned the footage of CCTV cameras installed in Mianwali Nagar, they said. With a tip-off, police found that one of the tenants from Jharkhand was missing since the murder.

When the police came to know that the man was expected to visit his rented place in Delhi on May 17. Police arrested him. Police came to know that the three people would bring young and poor girls on the pretext of providing them with attractive employment, said the police.

The girl was employed as a domestic help for three years, however, the accused used to take her salary and did not pay her, police said. When the girl quit her job and visited Karketa on May 3, he killed her.
