Dejected over breaking up of two marriages, a 29-year old youth allegedly committed suicide by consuming poisonous ‘cowdung’ powder, police said.
The parents of Jayaraj had fixed his marriage some six months ago and amidst preparation, the proposal was broken, putting him in depression, police said.
Seeing their son depressed, the parents convinced and fixed another marriage a few months ago.
However, that marriage proposal was also broken a couple of days ago, even as the preparation was going in full swing, police said.
Dejected over the failure of two marriage proposals, Jayaraj, working in a factory in Podanur here, consumed the powder and the relatives noticed him lying with foam oozing out from his mouth in the wee hours.
Though he was admitted to government hospital, Jayaraj died without responding to the treatment, police said.
