The Telengana State Government has declared that the Defence ministry seized over 900 acres of State Government land in the city and fenced it illegally.
Officials said that as per the records, the defence ministry has 3,000 acres of land, but in their survey they found that the ministry has possession of 3,940 acres, which shows that it has encroached over 940 acres of state government land in the city and fenced it illegally.
The Government decided to write to the Defence ministry asking for the land to hand them back and are also to inspect them legally.
The scuffle between TS government and Defence ministry has started when CM K. Chandra Sekhar Rao has decided to hold the first Independence Day celebrations of TS at Golconda fort in August 2014.
