Defence Minister of Saudi Arabia caught in controversy over fake news

This is not the first time when Gulf countries were caught in a controversy after fake news circulated on web. This time the latest caught in controversy is Saudi Arabian Defence Minister.

Amidst the political issues between the two Gulf countries Pakistan has stepped forward to mediate between Iran and Saudi Arabia, to maintain good political relations with them.

But the latest fake news alleging the Defence Minister of Saudi Arabia has called Pakistan a slave country could possible put Pakistan in a fix.

Tanveer Arain, Journalist, a political analyst with few leading publications in Pakistan, including The Dawn, recently took to Twitter alleging Saudi Arabian Defence Minister Muhammad Bin Suleiman’s written letter for calling the country a slave country.

The letter allegedly quotes the defence minister calling Pakistan a “slave country” and that “it will remain Saudi Arabia’s slave” country.

The story which was shared from the postcard portal was shared about 33,000 times on FB. It reads as Muhammad Bin Suleiman believes that Pakistanis are the slaves of the Arabs. This statement proves that Saudis looks at every other Muslim country with the ‘converted-Muslim’ perspective. Muslims from India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh are called ‘Hindu-Muslims’ in Saudi.
