Close on the heels of Assembly budget sessions of both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh beginning March 7, the High Court today took up a petition on defections of the leaders.
The High Court for first time served notices seeking clarification to Speaker S Madhusudhan Chary and Council Chairman Swamy Goud on the defections. The court also served notices to five Congress MLCs and three TD MLAs. It is a known fact that the leaders had defected to the ruling TRS party for greener pastures in recent times.
In the notices issued the apex court sought clarification on the issue. The congress leaders who were served the notices are Yadava Reddy, KR Amos, Bhanuparasad, Jagadishwar Reddy, Bhupal Reddy and TD MLAs are Theegala Krishna Reddy, Thalasani Srinivas Yadav and Dharma Reddy. The court adjourned the next hearing to a later date.(NSS)
