Hyderabad: It has come to notice that in Old City, the meat of Deer and other forest animals is being sold. On receiving a tip, a team of South Zone City Police Commissioner’s Task Force raided a house in Jahanuma wherein they found the meat of Black Deer. It also came to be known that in Chowk, meat of Deer and other prohibited animals was being sold.
According to the details, the Task Force team raided the house of a meat merchant, Mohammed Zameer and seized huge quantity of Deer meat. The team also seized more than 25 sparrows and other forest birds from Chowk. These are the birds which are listed as protected animals by Dept. of Forest. Hunting of these birds is a crime. It is reported that Ramesh used to supply these birds and animals to Zameer. Mr. Madhu Sudhan Reddy, Inspector of Task Force raided the spot and called the Forest Dept. officials to handover the meat and the birds.
