Deduct my salary and pay to the Mecca Masjid staff : Shabbir Ali

Deputy CLP leader T Legislative Council Mohammed Ali Shabbir, has offered his two-month pay to clear salary dues of the staff of historic Makkah Masjid and Royal Mosque at Public Garden.

In a letter to Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, Mr Ali expressed regret that the state has completely neglected the affairs of the Mecca Masjid and Royal Mosque. Though the staff at these two mosques had not got paid in the last three months, the state government has not released funds for their maintenance.

They have been performing their duties with dedication despite facing all kinds of difficulties, he said. The Congress MLC demanded that the CM conduct a review meeting and ensure that the salaries are paid immediately.

Shabbir Ali further stated that 8 out of 24 posts in Makkah Masjid are lying vacant, and Govt has not taken any step to fill the same.

In case his government is unable to pay the same, He requested the Chief Minister to treat his request as a letter of consent to deduct his two-month salary and allowances to clear the pending dues of Mecca Masjid and Royal Mosque employees
