Hyderabad: Police requested the people to declare their assets so that it could save them from thefts. This notification has been issued since many people proceed to their native places during Dasera, Depavali and other festivals. Police has an apprehension that during the absence of the people from their houses, dacoits may steal their assets.
Citizens are requested to inform police about gold, cash and valuables in their possessions through SMS. On receiving this information police patrolling will be increased. Police also advised the people to inform their neighbours about their absence.
It may be mentioned that during the past 10 days, 15 houses were targeted. Despite the alertness of police, the incidents of thefts have increased. Recently, one kg of gold and 5 kg of silver articles were stolen in addition to Rs. 15 lakh currency in 6 houses of Rampally and Keerlanagaram in Medchal district. 35 gm of ornaments and 1 kg silver articles were also looted in Kukatpally housing board quarters. Police is worried about these thefts.
